Periodical Payment Orders

Periodical Payment Order (PPO) is a specialised form of structured settlement that enables part of the Claimant's damages to be paid in regular instalments, in exchange for a part of the lump sum of damages. This methodology means a Claimant will have a steady stream of tax-free index-linked income to last their lifetime, which also removes the need for investment risk for a portion of the award.
Frenkel Topping was involved in the first Structured Settlement in British legal history in the case of Kelly v Dawes (1989) and have more than 30 years’ experience in this field.
