Despite being in place for nearly 11,800 days, the Rules surrounding witness statements are still frequently breached. Just last December, a judge expressed serious concerns about the credibility of statements that were cut and pasted, and in February, Chief Master Cook criticised blatantly non-compliant statements. Judges have the power to disregard witness statements entirely if they don’t comply with Part 32 requirements.
